Somthing Music

Audio / Visual ProjectSoundFrames V1 SoundFrames is an ongoing series of audio-visual pieces that capture and reinterpret everyday moments through sound and moving images. The project emerges from a desire to give forgotten recordings—both sonic and visual—a new space to exist. By pairing spontaneous videos with short sound design pieces, I explore the overlooked details of daily life, translating them into a sensory experience.

At its core, SoundFrames is an audio-first project. The visuals serve as an amplifier, enhancing the mood rather than dictating it. The vertical 9:16 format reflects the way we naturally capture fleeting moments and how we consume media today. Rather than overthinking each piece, I embrace intuition, working quickly to preserve the raw emotion of an idea before it fades.

By embracing limitations—using only what is already there—I create within boundaries that allow these fragments to breathe. SoundFrames is less about refinement and more about recognition: a way of noticing, collecting, and transforming the subtle textures of the everyday into something new.

Ambient meets NeoclassicS. Salter
Using a blend of intricate piano compositions, poised production elements, and carefully placed field recordings, S. Salter tells the listener a story of nostalgia. A project by Amsterdam-based British artist Samuel Ruddick and Berlin-based Swiss artist Jeremia Reichen, the tracks evoke a longing for 'home' whilst in the midst of solitude and a search for the familiar.

Compositions from debut album Juun are heavily influenced by Samuel’s native South West of England, and are completed by Jeremia’s distinct sound design and production techniques. Live strings on several tracks are written and performed by long-time collaborator Alistair Sterling. All visuals are by designer Kerry Williams.

Singles from Juun have garnered support from Spotify and BBC Radio, featuring numerous times in various programmes across the service. S. Salter appeared on the official 'Piano Day 2023' record, created by Nils Frahm and Leiter Verlag. Their full AV live show 'A Walk With... S. Salter', a collaboration with visual artists Sam McCormick and Seb Price, premiered in early 2023 in Amsterdam and is now touring cultural spaces across Europe.

Behind the SoundIn the Studio
My studio is vital to my creative process, offering me the freedom to make quick mixing and mastering decisions. Although I also work on the go to gather ideas, nevertheless I believe having a room with precise acoustics and a thoughtfully designed setup is crucial for a professional workflow and to achieving state-of-the-art results.

Curious by nature, I like to explore sound from different angles — through field recordings, a variety of microphones, and FX pedals that reveal unexpected textures. Sampling, working with drum machines and synthesizers, or using reel-to-reel tape are all part of my process, offering tactile ways to shape and transform sound.

Recording and processing sounds or loops outside the computer helps me break routines and embrace accidents — glitches, timing imperfections, or unexpected noise that often bring a track to life. I’m especially drawn to organic textures, detuned elements, analog delays, and moments of subtle instability. These details, though imperfect, often carry the most character.

Sound of a Still
Adam Audio  Soundtrack
This piece was created as part of an Adam Audio soundtrack competition, where the task was to compose a short soundtrack that reflects a picture, giving it a distinct auditory identity. Through music and sound design, I aimed to convey my personal vision of the image, shaping its atmosphere and underlying narrative.”

All things AudioClients / Commissioned Work
I work across a broad range of audio-related fields — from sound design and music production to mixing, mastering, and educational formats. Every project is different, and I approach each one with care, curiosity, and a focus on what it truly needs. Depending on the project, I also enjoy collaborating with a trusted network of musicians and audio professionals to bring in new perspectives and ideas.

To me, music is ultimately about emotion — and my role is to amplify what’s already there, or to add what might be missing, with care and sensitivity. Beyond all the tools and techniques, it’s about bringing the core feeling into focus.
